Installing pygame is starightforward on Mac until you hit the above error message: PyObjc 1.2 or later is required! Solution: Install pygame 1.4
Steps to get pygame running on Leopard 10.5.4
- Python is required; normally Mac OS X ships with python. However, if you want the latest version of python, just get it from the net (the latest version is currently 2.5.2)
- Get the latest pygame from pygame.org (should be version 1.8.1)
This is where you should hit the above error message: PyObjc 1.2 or later is required … on trying to run pygame. However with Leopard, PyObjc 2.0 is preinstalled!!! So why doesn’t it work? I don’t know.
But the solution is not far from that: just download PyObjc 1.4 and install that and pygame start to work by magic.
The Beijing 2008 olympics is over and is has been marked by several notable events like Usain Bolt breaking the 100m and 200m record and Micheal Phelps record 8 gold medals in one olympics. However, for Mauritius, it will always be remembered as the Olympics where we won our first medal. Chapeau bas Mr Bruno Julie, Chapeau bas our Mauritian Magician.

Amidst all this celebration, we must not forget Mr Jean Claude Nagloo who has been behind so many boxing champions in Mauritius – Richard Sunee, Giovanni Frontin, Riaz Durgahed and now Bruno Julie. While these athletes have sacrifised themselves, that guy has done a huge job as well and result wise, no one can argue that he is currently the best coach in Mauritius.
The only dark spot in all this celebration is the defeat in the semis which many Mauritians, including myself, find hard to accept. If Bruno Julie was beaten by a stronger opponent, we’ll have said: Well he did his best but that guy was strong. But we can’t even say that!!! Bruno put some hits which seemed valid but were not counted and what about that body shot! We can’t even say that Bruno lost to a better opponent!!! 
Bruno Julie, nicknamed the Mauritan Magician by the commentators has today secured the first Olympic medal for the country. Today, he has beaten MANZANILLA RANGEL Hector and secured a place in the semifinals. Since in Boxing we have 2 bronze medals, Bruno Julie will at least get a bronze medal which is historic; never before has a Mauritian won any medal in the Olympic Games.

I don’t know if you’ve watch the 7:30 news recently. If you haven’t make a point do watch it at least once. I have never seen such biased coverage and propaganda: it’s terribly one sided with shots carefully planned to praise the government, especially when they are slinging mud at the opposition.
If anything bad happens to the government, not a word is said. Unless I’m mistaken, not a word was said (at least in the 7:00 p.m. news) that our Attorney General had submitted his resignation letter. If that’s not news, what is? Surely that the leader of the opposition will table a paper that he did not is!!!
